Besides representing peoples, what else do waters represent that can flow throughout the peoples / multitudes?

“The words of a man’s mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.”

(Proverbs 18:4 KJV)

To what does God compare man’s inability to hear God’s own words?

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.”

(Amos 8:11–13 KJV)

Upon what spiritual rock did Jesus say He will build His church?

“He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

(Matthew 16:15–18 KJV)

If waters are words and thirst can be quenched by waters (words) from the rock (Yahshua, AKA Jesus), then what is gained by hearing God’s words?

What must one do to obtain an everlasting supply of living water?

What is the purpose of Yahshua’s washing of His church with His living waters (words)?

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”

(Ephesians 5:25–27 KJV)

How will God’s people overcome satan?

“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

(Revelation 12:10–11 KJV)

(Zechariah 14:8–9 KJV)

“Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the LORD, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.”

(Jeremiah 31:12 KJV)

What will happen to the nations of the earth once the words of God are flowing from the mouths of His people?

“And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall.”

(Jeremiah 51:44 KJV)

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

(Isaiah 60:1–5 KJV)

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David. Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee. Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”

(Isaiah 55:1–11 KJV)

Rob’s Commentary: The Living Waters

God’s living waters are His words, His wisdom, which bring understanding and draw all peoples towards Yahshua, the Counselor, who witnesses of the Father. Waters flowing from a literal rock to His literally thirsty people is a physical representation of a spiritual reality. Using the physical symbols of rock and water God teaches us that spiritual living waters, the words of Yahweh, flow forth from our Rock of our salvation, Yahshua, unto us. The waters are then meant to flow from Jerusalem, those who are close to Yahshua, to all “four corners”, or throughout, the earth. In the garden of Eden, this was depicted as four rivers that flow to the garden in Eden to water it. In the tabernacle system it is depicted as the 12 tribes positioned outside the tabernacle (3 tribes in each direction, north, south, east and west.) The water (word) does not return unto Him void but accomplishes what it was set out to do. If it flows outward to the sea, it will draw the seas (nations, multitudes) back to Him as well. We are told in prophecy that all nations will one day flow to the mountain of the Lord. The nations will seek the fountain of the Lord. Fountain is rwøqDm, Strongs 4726, which means “happiness” and “wisdom”. The 12 tribes (chosen peoples) are meant to carry the living waters to the nations so that those who receive the word become fountains of wisdom with a never-ending supply of living words so they will never thirst again.
